The petitioner, a senior citizen, being the proprietor of M/s. Chopra Brothers is an authorised dealer for Kirloskar Electric Motors and is engaged in trading industrial electric motors, mono-block pumps and generator sets, etc. For the A.Y. 2015–16, the petitioner filed a return of his income, declaring the income of Rs.19,94,970 which was processed u/s. 143(1) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. On 7th April, 2021, the Assessing Officer, respondent No. 1 issued a notice u/s. 148 of the Act, which on being challenged by the petitioner, was set aside in terms of the decision in the case of Mon Mohan Kohli vs. Asst.
